Santiburi Koh Samui has stepped up all its precautionary measures as we believe in the utmost importance of the safety of our guests and employees. We have enhanced our hygiene and social distancing standards to be in line with the World Health Organization. We are also certificated by the Department of Health, Thailand Ministry of Public Health, for our new protocols.

Here is a list of our main health and safety measures:

  • Disinfection of all property vehicles daily and after each use. All drivers wear masks and gloves
  • Airport pick-up: driver with mask and gloves. Guests are welcomed with sanitiser gel and offered a mask. The driver sanitises every piece of luggage at pick-up point and informs guests of the new measures in place at Santiburi and recommends the download of the Santiburi App
  • Taxi service: our driver services are guaranteed to follow the highest safety standards. We only collaborate with a selection of drivers who apply our protocols
  • All partners for excursions – land, sea, attractions  – are accredited with a health and safety certificate
  • In cars and select public areas, such as the sport centre, spa, junior camp, our hygiene messages are visible to every guest
  • Personalised check-in with temperature check and medical form. If there is more than one check-in, the distance required between guests is three metres minimum
  • Welcome amenities: Santiburi’s textile washable mask (for kids, masks are provided by Panya & Yims) for usage throughout the stay (no single-use masks to support sustainability), sanitiser and welcome letter explaining all hygiene and cleanliness messages in several languages (Thai, German, French, Chinese, and Japanese) are given to every guest
  • Personalised check-out at private cashier lounge (one guest at a time) with sanitiser departure pack, farewell letter including safety points for travel one day prior
  • Room key sanitising after every check-out and again prior to every key hand-out
  • Sanitisers are placed in all public areas at all times
  • Every staff wears face-shields or masks depending on their job. For example, laundry staff work with gloves and masks and F&B staff wear face shields
  • Regular basic hygiene training for all staff and specific food-hygiene training conducted
  • Printed instructions on how to clean hands at every water point
  • Ongoing hygiene committee updating the chef’s hygiene manual
  • Introduction of hygiene ambassadors
  • Staff cleanliness standards include entry control, temperature check, uniform washing in the onsite laundry and changing rooms. Clean and impeccable uniform wear, perfect grooming according to resort’s standards, respect of our hygiene standards and wearing of protective equipment (masks, face shields, gloves) according to services is required at all times
  • Social distancing, “safe” spacing of two metres between sunbeds at pool and beach 
  • Social distancing, “safe” spacing of two metres in restaurants
  • No buffets – only a la carte and extended menus especially for breakfast that is adapted to nationalities
  • Tables, chairs, doors, counters and other high-frequency touch points are cleaned constantly (cleaning product contains 75% alcohol) and systematic new full table set-up after every table change
  • Public toilets are cleaned hourly, frequent cleaning of public areas with focus on high-frequency touch points such as doors, railings, surfaces, and chairs
  • Rooms are cleaned according to strict hygiene standards with extra attention to high-frequent touch points and with cleaning products containing 75% alcohol 
  • At main gate: strict entry control and temperature check for all passengers (staff, guests, suppliers, outside contractors/ partners), hand cleaning with sanitisers
  • Controlled delivery of items as per hygiene standards. There are mandatory safety requirements for all suppliers
  • Recreation, sports, towel stations: highest guest service levels and guaranteed strict safety and hygiene standards at all times 
  • Spa: guests are requested to use their masks. Spa welcome with sanitiser. Spa services are rolled-out as per Thai Spa Association guidelines
  • Junior camp, sand games, water sport and sport centre equipment is disinfected daily (anti-allergic and non-toxic cleaning products, 75% alcohol)
  • Air conditioner filter cleaning every two weeks in public areas and offices; in guest rooms after every check-out
  • At all times, sustainability must be taken into consideration for new hygiene and safety initiatives and solutions must be environmentally friendly
