Santiburi Koh Samui is not only the island’s leading Thai luxury resort, it is also an important and active member of Koh Samui’s business and tourism community.The resort has been a significant local employer for almost 30 years and co-operates closely with Samui’s authorities to keep the natural environment along Koh Samui’s north shore as pristine as possible.

Our best-practice approach to sustainability includes the implementation of energy- and water-saving strategies, recycling of grey water and waste management, the use of non-chemical pesticides in the garden, sourcing local products at every opportunity, and supporting community projects either with funds or voluntary assistance. Santiburi Koh Samui also supports regional environmental initiatives through its owning company Singha Estate. 

In recognition of these activities and our continued commitment to the environment, Santiburi was awarded a Green Globe™ Certification – the world’s leading accreditation status for sustainable operations in tourism and hospitality.
